New Zealand Telecoms Testing and Certification Services

Recognised Testing Authority – Spark New Zealand
Comtest is formally recognised by Spark New Zealand as a Recognised Testing Authority (RTA). This means we are authorised to carry out Permission to Connect (PTC) testing across a wide range of technologies, including but not limited to:
- VoIP telephones
- Gateways and modems
- Customer premises equipment (CPE)
- Other telecommunications products requiring network approval
Our experienced engineering team ensures your product meets the technical requirements necessary for connection to the New Zealand public telecommunications network.
Telepermit Applications and Support
In addition to testing, Comtest can assist with obtaining Telepermits on behalf of our customers. This service helps international and local manufacturers navigate New Zealand’s requirements quickly and efficiently, avoiding delays to market. Our team manages the application from start to finish, ensuring all required compliance documentation is complete and correct.

Important Note on Mobile Device Telepermits (PTC257)
The PTC257 process applies specifically to mobile devices intended for connection to the Spark New Zealand mobile network. This process is managed exclusively by Entelar Group Limited (a subsidiary of Spark NZ) through its Device Technology & Certification (DTC) team.
Comtest cannot assist with PTC257 Telepermit applications.
Applicants seeking mobile device approval must submit the official PTC257 Application to Connect form directly to DTC, who will then contact the applicant to discuss the relevant requirements.
For more information, applicants should refer to the Mobile Device Telepermit Process.
