Do I still need a certification body statement? How certification is changing<\/h1>\n\t

The answer is different to what you think. In some situations, you may not need to have a separate certification statement. There are two standards you must comply with when distributing a telecommunications product in Australia: AS\/CA S042.1 (high risk) and AS\/CA S042.4. We will explain what needs to be done for showing compliance to high risk standard devices, with two ways to do this:<\/p>\n

    endorsed test reports. Comtest Labs is accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) for the standard AS\/CA S042.1. This is the most efficient<\/strong> way of getting your product to the Australian market fast \u2014\u00a0you test your product in an accredited Australian lab and do not have to obtain other proof that the product complies with this standard. (This is assuming you have tested for electrical safety, energy efficiency etc)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    \u00a0If you don\u2019t have accredited lab<\/strong> or have already done telecommunications testing elsewhere, an IECEE CB Test Report can be used, but it must be accompanied by an IECEE CB Test Certificate or a certificate issued under a law of a State or Territory. In this case, you need a certification body statement as well<\/strong>. Only bodies accredited by JAS-ANZ under the ACMA\u2019s Telecommunications Certification Scheme can provide legally compliant statements.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    \u00a0Even if you are not required to have a certified body statement, you can still obtain a statement to provide confidence that your test reports will be accepted, or if you are not sure about the reliability of the lab your company used.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
